How to dye out? Buy a dark shade and white nail polish. Like a painter's paint palette, create 5 different shades just by adding a little more white to each.
How to half moon? Paint the whole nail in one shade...wait till it dries and then with tape block the area and add new color.

I just used this shade of Essie, neon green - they looked great for 2 days before chipping. womp womp. regardless, the color was magnificent!
