Fashion Collab: Target + Peter Pilotto

the only fashion collab's i've been interested in have been DVF for Baby Gap (and I didn't buy anything cause I have no kids) and Versace for H&M. Oh, I think Maison Margiela was another I really liked but for 1 piece in particular which was sold out once I decided to stroll in by at 11am.

Target is by far one of my favorite places to go for home goods, beauty, and bathing suits. I've seen their small Marc Jacobs, Jason Wu and other designer collabs but I never bring myself to actually buy them.

But I think that will change on Feb. 9th. British brand, Peter Pilotto’s signature bright prints and patterns will update my tropical closet as it's surf-inspired collection will work for work and evening affairs in the sunshine city.

I'm not exactly sure, but I've been reading that the price points are under $60 / $80. Mark your calendar: Sunday, Feb 9th @ Target.

Places: MET Museum: Punk: Chaos to Couture

Sunday Funday at the MET with Shantall and Nazira. Although we got there at 4:30 (MET closes at 5:30 on Sundays) we were able to enjoy the short exhibition. Compared to the Prada / Schararelli and McQueen exhibit this one had few captions, therefore we were able to enjoy it at a faster pace and in 45 minutes. The Prada / Schararelli and McQueen exhibits took me 2 hours to complete. Punk: Chaos to Couture boasted Vivienne Westwood, McQueen, Givenchy, Gianni Versace, Yohi Yamamoto and Maison Martin Margiela to name a few. My favorite hallway was definitely the 'Hardware' hall featuring Dolce and Gabbana and Gianni Versace.

The Met's spring 2013 Costume Institute exhibition, PUNK: Chaos to Couture, will examine punk's impact on high fashion from the movement's birth in the early 1970s through its continuing influence today. Featuring approximately one hundred designs for men and women, the exhibition will include original punk garments and recent, directional fashion to illustrate how haute couture and ready-to-wear borrow punk's visual symbols.
