What I Would Wear: Work

have you ever watched Two Broke Girls? well if you haven't its based on two (yes, broke) girls living in Brooklyn, trying to make rent each month by waitressing but still enjoy an occasional bargain at the Salvation Army.

I've never been to big on shopping at the Salvation Army or at the many 'vintage' shops New York has to offer but if u have time, you can find some good designer or consignment deals.

New York is crazy expensive (unlimited metro card runs a steep $110 each month) but when you walk by the bright END OF THE SEASON, SALE, CLEARANCE, or STORE CLOSING signs, you can't help yourself! so i've been making the rounds at the $5 H&M sales, 60% off Gap sales, and 30% off Aldo sales! and by making the rounds i mean: selecting pieces, debating the 30 person fitting room line, feeling the guilt trip and run out. hey! i'm no longer a recessionista, i'm just another broke girl with her first job looking for a $5-$15 deal that won't hurt my savings. i've actually been wearing my Gap slim crop pants at least 3 times a week in these past 2 months. besides the fact that i love them. i need to save struggling through the desperate need of at least some easy to dress tops for work! ASAP!

Aldo, Red Pumps: on Sale for $49
Gap, Green Easy Straight Cropped Pants for $49.95
Forever 21, Bib Necklace: $8

What to Wear When: Traveling

Two very good friends of mine are headed to Madrid to get their Masters and I wish them only the best of luck and safest of travels while in Europe. So besides all the apartment and winter wear advice I've already them with - here's another tip - it's going to be a very long ride there. I don't even want to think about it. I traveled on AA for over 23 hours including layovers (but not including my Nicaragua-Miami flight) because the flight was so cheap to Florence. I think I was wearing black leggings, a simple white tank, pink scarf, ballerina flats, and houndstooth cape - oh! and sunglasses of course (because 23 hours you tend to look like shit)! - I seriously don't know how Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, and Victoria Beckham do it?? I'm sure they fly commercial sometimessssss.

Anyways, I remember when flying was a big deal and we would all get a little dressed up. I'm not a big fan of people wearing UGGS or baggy ass Victoria Secret pajama pants already but seeing them look like that while flying too!? Come onnnn!! Can you try a little? Atleast in Europe you're already going to look or sound like a tourist but do you really gotta dress like that? For example, please watch the 1st episode of the Jersey Shore goes to Italy - that's embarrassing! They are embarrassing already - yes, i know - but I'm talking about the traveling look.

So I put a few pieces up from Forever 21 - super cheap and most importantly comfortable. Sunglasses to hide the bags, slip on sneakers, boyfriend capris pants, graphic tee, and casual printed leaf dress with a 4-inch sleeve.

My airport style usually includes: converse sneaks, black leggings, black and/or white top, colorful scarf, Jackie-O sunglasses and a HUGE bag in case my luggage is overweight LOL.

Summer 2011 Style Guide & Destinations

A style guide influenced by my mini vacation to Florida and Nicaragua. While in Florida, I spent one of my nights out on the hot Miami Beach...an Erick Morillo - Defected TV video said it best "What do you love  about Miami? All the hot asses, all the hot asses everywhere!! .... Miami is the sexiest!!"

I usually spend just 2 nights in Miami and it always leaves me wanting more ... more music, more beach, more sexy outfits, more life!

Now Miami isn't as trendy or fashion forward...however, I believe they have their unique style which can only be referred to sensual seduction. You have to embrace looking good while drops of sweat are sliding down your face, arms, and belly...let me just say it is a true talent to control the hair frizz under that humid weather year round!

My South Beach muses are Karolina Kurkova & Bar Rafaeli.

As for the second part of my early summer trip to Nicaragua - I found myself almost heading to Corn Island on the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua (I still haven't been!) with best friend and her boyfriend but decided not be the third wheel hahahha ... however, as you can see you'll know why I really want to go someday. It's simply breathtaking! Definitely a place to go with a significant other and a HOT-ASS bikini! Just like black strappy one from the S'S 11 Mara Hoffman collection. Unlike Miami and it's short shorts..I decided to go with an ISSA crochet dress...I mean look at all these colors! They are magnificient for a walk on the beach and romantic dinner by the beach.

My Corn Island muse is Spanish actress, Elsa Pataky.

Two very different styles, but two very aphrodisiac destinations.

What to Wear to an Internship Interview

Last week, I had no idea what to wear to my internship interview with Pucci and started googling and going through Vogue, Elle, and WhoWhatWear for ideas but not a lot came up. So I'll give you some ideas based on what my friends and I wore, plus some rules on what to wear and what not to wear.

First Look (Me): Gray Tee (H&M), Black&Blue skirt (Forever 21), Bib (MaxMara), Shoes (Stella McCartney)
My Inspiration: Lauren Conrad of The Hills

Second Look (Megha): White short sleeved Top, Brown Houndstooth stretch skirt, Tan pointy pumps

Megha's Inspiration: "50s Secretary" Let's take Joan Holloway from Mad Men. She's viewed as a mature, stylish woman who knows how to use her sexuality to control her life.

Third Look (Crystal): Graphic dress (H&M) with Sergio Rossi Oxford "Shoeties"

Crystal's Inspiration: Pop Abstract Expressionist with a Jackson Pollock inspired print dress
